Dance Prism offers special programs designed to meet the needs of Scouts of all ages and other community groups.
In addition to generous discounts on tickets, programs may be arranged to include:
· Pre-show informational talks tailored to fulfilling badge requirements
· Opportunities to meet dancers
· Backstage tours for appropriate age levels
· Complementary Dance Prism Nutcracker Patch for Nutcracker attendance
· Complementary Dance Prism Repertoire Patch for Spring & Fall Program attendance
The Nutcracker (December 2017)
Dance Prism offers Girl Scouts and their leaders an opportunity to experience a special afternoon of ballet and fun at performances of The Nutcracker. Families of scouts are also welcome to attend. Daisies and Brownies are treated to a pre-performance demonstration in the auditorium where they learn details about the costuming, makeup and scenery of the production. Juniors and teens may participate in a scout-oriented backstage tour focusing on the technical parts of a theatrical production such as lighting, scenery, and props (limited availability). All Scouts will receive a Dance Prism Nutcracker Patch designed especially for them. Over 1750 Scouts of all ages and their families attended last season’s production!
Similar programs are available for other Dance Prism productions throughout the year.
Puss in Boots (October 2017)
Reservations for tickets and pre-show talks are now available for Dance Prism’s new production of Puss in Boots, a whimsical tale of a roguish cat, his poor master, and a princess that will delight all ages. All Scouts will receive a Dance Prism’s own Repertoire Patch designed by artist David Workman. Admission to a post -performance reception to meet the principal dancers is included. A similar program will be available for Dance Prism’s new work for the spring of 2018.
The Merry Widow (April 2018)
A charming romantic waltz through the Paris of the turn of the 20th Century, with lovers and courtiers and cancan dancers.
Tickets will be available in late fall, 2017.
Scout groups (minimum 5 Scouts and one adult) are given generous ticket discounts and best seating available at time of registration. All seats are reserved; registration is accepted until the performance sells out.
